Q:- What is NATA?
ANS:- The National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA)is a mandatory test for the study of Architecture in India. The test measures aesthetic sensitivity and critical thinking; in other words, aptitude of an aspirant required for being an architecture.
Q:- Who takes it?
ANS:- Propective applicants/students desirous of taking admission to 1st year of undergarduate course in architecture (Bachelor of Architecture)in India take the NATA Test.
Q:- Is giving NATA compulsory for taking admission to any architectural college in India?
ANS:- Yes it is, as prescribed by the Council of Architecture, a statutory body under MHRD created under the Architects act of 1972. The council had been entrusted with the authority to regulate architectural education in India.
Q:- Who accepts it?
ANS:- NATA test scores are used by admission authorities of all schools/colleges of architecture, government and government aided, university departments including colleges affiliated to self-financed deemed universities and private universities, or any department of architecture within a college, as common measures for comparing the qualifications of applicants.
Q:- Where do people take it?
ANS:- NATA is offered at designated Test Centres located at colleges/schools of architecture in India. Update lost of test centres is available at the website

ANS:- Application form comes in DEC-JAN
exam held on MARCH-APRIL.
Q:- By taking NATA do i get automatic admission into any architectural college in India?
ANS:- No, NATA is just an aptitude test. On receiving the Score Card, the candidate will have to contact various admission authorities with NATA Score Card and other details (as prescribed by the respective admission authorities). Admission in India lies with the state (usually under Directorate of Technical Education for the state).
Q:- Do i have to appear for NATA at the college where i aspire to take admission?
ANS:- No. You may appear for NATA at any Test Centre convenient to you. Based on the score, you may seek admission to any collegee where you are eligible to seek admission.
