India's comfortable growth in industrial sector has resulted in a feel good factor to our economy as a whole. These, in turn, ushered a boom to real estate and allied development sector there by opening up a wide and lucrative horizon for those who are into the field of architecture.
With a B.Arch degree, one can get an opening both in the public as well as in private sectors. An architect can work with government organisations like centraland state public work departments, housing and urban development corporation, municipalities, city development authorities, state housing boards etc. They are also employed in industrial ventures, consultancy and private architectural firms, teaching institutions, real estate development firms, etc.
But the most privileged scope in the field of architecture is private practise. With some years of experiencein an organisation, the architects can set-up their own business. Architectural practices pr individual architects may choose to specialise in one of a numberof areas such as housing, hospital or educational facilities. In this field, individuals practicing though their own firm could earn a lot, and this could be from thousands to lakhs. Consultants charge anywhere between 4-10% of total cost of construction in case of apartments and multistoried buildings, etc.
